Hellow~

Actually, I never fond of Stephen King's books, when I was a kid I read one of his books and I couldn't finish it. I just find the book is too hard and too long and too scary so after that one book, I never read any King's book till IT.

The motivation behind this was, of course, the movie adaptation last year. I like the movie, it's really good. I mean 98% certified Rotten Tomatoes? How can you say that movie isn't good? Also, I really like the casts and Bill Skarsgård's Pennywise is beyond amazing, but I find the movie is not as scary as I thought tho, I even thought that the movie is funny.

Ok, back to the main topic, when I read all the comments about the movie, most of them said that you should read the book because there are so many things that not shown in the movie.

So, I finally read the book and yes, there are so many parts that I wish they could show it in the movie, like Richie and Bev's friendship!!! the Werewolf!!!! Stan's first encountering with IT! and on how smart and helpful Richie is and how Bill is really trusting and depend on him. So, yes, the book is much much much more good and horrifying than the movie, not only the Pennywise part but also how King's wrote the adults and Henry Bowers gang. Bowers gang are a lot nicer in the movie.

But of course, the movie couldn't take all the books details in only 2 hours so I 'm not complaining here. I just wish that the sequel, IT: Chapter 2 would be better and they would cast actors who resemble with the kids cast because I really love them. They're amazing kids!

For me, what most horrifying is not IT. I mean, yes, IT is super horrifying, cruel and it will eat you, scared you to death. But the most horrifying is the adults at Derry. For example, how could they just let Bowers and the gang bullied every child there? and do nothing about that? How could Bill's parents treat Bill like he's invisible after Georgie's death?  Eddie's mom paranoia that ruin Eddie's mental! and Bev's parents, her mom and dad are the worst! It's like all the adults at Derry have their own little world, oblivious to their surroundings, only care about their business, their adults' problem and you know what the most terrifying is? because that's the reality.

Move on to the best part, i think the best part of this book is the losers friendship, how much they love each other and want to protect each other. I love Eddie's part when he describes their friendship.

Maybe, he thought, there aren't any such things as good friends or bad friends - maybe there are just friends, people who stand by you when you're hurt and who help you feel not so lonely. Maybe they're always worth being scared for, and hoping for, and living for. Maybe worth dying for, too, if that's what has to be. No good friends. No bad friends. Only people you want, need to be with; people who build their houses in your heart.

(I'm not crying! You are!)

and how Eddie's thoughts about 'maybe worth dying for' it's what he'd do in the future, died to protect his friends. Man, that part!Argh! I hate it so much! also, the part when Richie cried and plead to bring Eddie's body because he can't let Eddie alone in a dark place, because Eddie hates it. Gosh! I CAN'T!!!!

and the worst part was, of course, when all of them forgetting again and this time is for forever. Their friendship is everything for them and it is the cost for them to stop IT, to stop the cycle, to stop the fear. It cost their friendship and Stan and Eddie's lives for killing IT. Which is super sucks! After all the fear and the troubles and every bad thing that happen to them why they can't keep their memories?? T.T

but as Mike Hanlon said; My heart with you, no matter how it turns out. My heart is with all of them, and I think that, even if we forget each other, we'll all remember in our dreams. I loved you guys, you know. I loved you so much.

xx,
ash
